Won #1 in Game Design at OGPC
Last Saturday my team and I presented our game in the Oregon Game Project Challenge (OGPC), over the course of 8 months we developed a complex rogue-like algorithm, implemented full fledged cloud saving via Firebase's Realtime Database, while telling a unique sci-fi story.
One of the things I am most proud about on our game, is the impressiveness of the soundscape we paint with the technical audio enhancement features in 'Into the Origin' using realistic toned voice acting and professional mixed music with FL Studio to make the music cohesive.
With the art aspect of our game, we combined pixel graphics with special effects and lightning techniques to convey a dark environment the player traverses through. We also use grays and silver colors to convey the feel of new-world technology, using copper and browns to showcase the old-world environment, as well as pinks and purples for old-world technologies and enemies.
At the event, we won best in Game Design, an award that we are very proud of. Our hard work paid off, and people really enjoyed the game feel and impressiveness our game provided. If you want to try the game out, give it a try and leave a comment.
Thank you for listening in!
